Official Contest Rules & Regulations

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Contest Organizer

The “Murdoch Mysteries x Countess Luann Experience” Instagram Giveaway (the “Contest”) is administered by Shaftesbury Murdoch XIX Inc. (“Organizer”), located in Toronto, Ontario.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins on October 9, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and ends on October 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). Entries submitted after the Contest Period will not be eligible.

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open only to legal residents of Canada, excluding residents of the Province of Quebec, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Employees, officers, directors, contractors, representatives, and agents of the Organizer, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (“CBC”), and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sibling, or household member) are not eligible to enter or win.

4. How to Enter

No purchase necessary. To enter, an individual must, during the Contest Period:

Take a selfie in front of one (1) of the Murdoch Mysteries x Countess Luann posters located in the lobby of the Danforth Music Hall.
Post the photo to their personal Instagram account by October 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Tag @cbcmurdoch in the post.
Follow @cbcmurdoch on Instagram.
Tag at least one (1) friend in the same post.

Limit of one (1) entry per individual during the Contest Period. Multiple entries will not increase chances of winning and may be disqualified. All entries must comply with Instagram’s terms of service and community guidelines.

The only method of entry to the Contest is by Instagram as stated above (Internet access required); no other means of submission will be accepted.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the winner based on their Instagram account, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned a social media account by social media platform or provider or other organization responsible for assigning social media accounts.

By submitting an entry or participating in the Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these official Contest Rules and any other applicable terms of use from the Organizer and/or third party social media platform.

5. Prize

There is one (1) prize available to be won consisting of:

A walk-on background role for the winner and one (1) guest (must be 18 years or older) in Murdoch Mysteries Season 19 on a weekday between November 6, 2025 and December 9, 2025, subject to production schedule.
A personalized video message from Luann de Lesseps.
Lunch on set.

Exclusions: The prize does not include transportation, accommodations, or any other costs, expenses, or incidentals.

Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $1,500 CAD.

The prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent is permitted, except at the Organizer’s sole discretion. The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute and/or modify the Prize with a prize(s) of equal or greater value for any reason.

6. Winner Selection and Notification

One (1) winner will be selected in a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The draw will take place in Toronto, Ontario within five (5) business days following the end of the Contest Period.

The selected entrant will be contacted by direct message on Instagram from @cbcmurdoch. The selected entrant must respond within 72 hours of being contacted.

To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:

Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Organizer.
Sign and return a Declaration and Release form within the time specified by the Organizer.

Failure to comply with any of the foregoing may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate entrant.

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

7. Publicity and Use of Entries

By entering the Contest, entrants grant the Organizer and CBC the right, without further compensation, to use their Instagram handle, name, likeness, and submitted photo in any publicity carried out in connection with the Contest.

By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing personal information including, but not limited to, full name, age and province of residence (the “Registrant Information”), each Contest entrant grants permission to the Organizer to collect and use the Registrant Information for the purpose of administering the Contest and selecting the Prize winner. In addition, the Registrant Information may be aggregated on a non-identifiable basis and used by the Organizer and CBC for research and analytical purposes. Unless consent has been provided by the entrant, no correspondence will take place between the Organizer and the entrants except in connection with the Contest and, in the case of a Prize winner, as a result of entering the Contest and winning a Prize. 8. General Conditions

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Instagram. Entrants provide their information to the Organizer and not to Instagram.

The Organizer and CBC are not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, or incomplete entries, or for technical failures of Instagram or any other platform.
The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest for any reason, at any time, in its sole discretion.
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or violates these Rules.

9. Limitation of Liability

By entering, entrants release and hold harmless the Organizer, CBC, Instagram, and each of their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages of any kind arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.

Without limiting the foregoing, the Organizer, CBC and Instagram make no representation nor offer any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. The Prize winner understands and acknowledges that they may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy should a Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory to the Prize winner.

10. Governing Law

The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.

11. Miscellaneous

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Contest Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Contest Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. The Organizer’s failure to enforce any term of these Contest Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. When terms such as “may” are used in these Contest Rules, the Organizer has sole and absolute discretion. Entrants agree to waive any rights to claim ambiguity of these Contest Rules. Headings are solely for convenience of reference and will not be deemed to affect in any manner the meaning or intent of any provision of these Contest Rules. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, privacy policy or terms of use on the www.Shaftesbury.ca website and/or the terms and conditions of the Contest Rules, the Contest Rules shall prevail, govern and control and the discrepancy will be resolved in Organizer’s sole and absolute discretion.
